Mindfulness Meditation

One-on one coaching - both online and in person - for beginners and more advanced students of mindfulness meditation, based on Rob’s many decades of daily meditation practice and teaching for over 20 years.

  • Rob can work with you on:

    • How to begin mindfulness meditation practice

    • How to take mindfulness into everyday life

    • The art of interpersonal mindful inquiry - meditation “out loud” with spiritual friends

    • Working with the stages of learning to meditate, including typical roadblocks in meditation practice

    • Taking your meditation practice to the next level

    • Tapping more broadly into the vast treasury of Buddhist based practices and teachings, such as:

      • The Four Foundations of Mindfulness (Satipatthana Sutta)

      • The four heartfulness practices of Loving Kindness, Compassion, Joy, and Equanimity (Brahma Viharas)

      • Full Awareness of Breathing (Anapanasati Sutta)

      • The Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path

    • Working with the four stages of RAIN: Recognize, Allow, Investigate, Nurture/Non-Identify

  • Rob’s coaching is based on the particular needs of each student.  But a typical one hour meditation coaching session might include:

    • A brief “check-in” on how the practice is progressing

    • Guided meditation led by Rob

    • Mindful inquiry - meditation “out loud”- with Rob to more deeply explore moment by moment experience with the practice

The Enneagram

Rob is fully certified (through CP Enneagram Academy) to offer one-on one coaching - both online and in person - for beginners and more advanced students of the Enneagram and has taught the Enneagram for over ten years.

  • Rob can guide you in:

    • Learning your likely Enneagram type (and instinctual “subtype”) through a 90 minute typing interview

    • Understanding the key features of your type, including key strengths and blind spots, in your actual daily experience

    • Using an understanding of type to leverage your key strengths and avoid blind spots, both at home and at work, both in relationships and within yourself

    • Working with your type’s “passions and virtues” - the typical emotional reactivity of your type and developing its higher emotional capacity that allows you to respond mindfully rather than just react when faced with challenges and difficulties that cause unnecessary suffering

    • Understanding other Enneagram factors, such as your instinctual preferences, your “wing” types, and the inner lines of the Enneagram

    • Anticipating and working with you particular development path based on your particular type

    • Leverage mindfulness and other particular Buddhist based practices and teachings to work more deeply and effectively with your type and its potential

    • Learn to awaken and rebalance your three centers of intelligence of body, heart, and mind based on your type

Payment

  • The first session is free of charge.

  • Standard rate is $125 per hour, but this is negotiable based on the student’s financial circumstances. As with the ancient Buddhist practice of offering “dana,” no one is turned away, but is encouraged to offer whatever they can in gratitude for the teachings.
